This design, referred to as the 'R gate', symbolizes a pathway to share Riiid’s Deep Learning based AI technology and new educational experiences with the world. The primary color, Deep Ocean Blue, highlights Riiid’s pioneering spirit in the field of AI education.
Designers utilized digitalization programs such as Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create the emblem. The design system is adaptable to both offline and online materials, ensuring a consistent look for internal and external communication purposes. The "R Gate Emblem" serves as a framework for marketers and designers, allowing them to fill it with various images flexibly, representing the immense possibility of formative learning experiences.
The emblem's technical specifications were meticulously planned. The ratio of the 'R gate' emblem is 1:1, with the letter ‘R’ from the logo used as a base measuring unit. Riiid Inc. also developed a cube typeface based on the ratio of 'R', with two types, Extra Bold and Bold. The transformation from Extra Bold to Bold fonts symbolizes Riiid's role in defining real-world solutions in the field of education.
The rebranding project, which started in September 2020 and concluded in January 2021, was a response to Riiid's expansion into B2B partnerships and the need for a brand identity that could connect its past and future. The new corporate identity needed to embrace different cultural nuances in different regional markets, a challenge that the design team successfully overcame. The result is a logo that is distinctive, responsive, and adaptable across all types of media channels and platforms.
