ZhuoQing: Revolutionizing the Tea Experience

Instant Tea Essence by Tiger Pan: A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

The inspiration behind ZhuoQing's design is the pull-out carton, reminiscent of a cigarette case. This unique packaging maximizes portability and simplifies the tea drinking process, all while preserving the reverence for Pu'er's planting history and the tea ceremony. The box is adorned with embroidered decorations inspired by the folk embroidery patterns of Yunnan, Pu'er's birthplace, recreating authentic tea working scenes.

ZhuoQing's uniqueness lies in its Pu'er essence powder, extracted through meticulous processes to ensure complete dissolution in water without any residue. This innovative approach not only makes the tea drinking process more convenient but also enhances its health benefits, particularly in lowering blood sugar levels. The outer box is made of selected tinplate material, and the slim structure of the small carton features a unique reopenable structure, making it easy to carry and use.

The design was realized using SPTE for the outer box, paper for the inner box, and aluminum foil for the small pack. The dimensions of the box are 395(L)*242(W)*40(H) mm, making it compact and portable. The design project began in September 2020 in Tianjin and was completed in October 2020 in Shenzhen. It was launched in Beijing in November 2020.

ZhuoQing's design is backed by extensive research into the history of tea tasting in China, which spans over 4,500 years, with Pu'er's drinking history accounting for a thousand years. The design effectively increases opportunities to drink Pu'er by extracting its effective substances and retaining its flavor for quick dissolution. The tea polysaccharides in Pu'er are refined to help lower blood sugar more effectively.

One of the main challenges in designing ZhuoQing was to maintain the ritualistic and high-maintenance nature of Pu'er, which has always been brewed using raw leaves for thousands of years. By presenting Pu'er like instant coffee powder, ZhuoQing increases opportunities to drink Pu'er and provides tea lovers with a convenient drinking experience under different situations.

The design of ZhuoQing has been recognized for its innovation and excellence, winning the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
