Ruby Pixels: A Unique and Modern Earring Design

An Asymmetric Combination of Classic and Contemporary

The design of the Ruby Pixels earrings draws inspiration from 80s video games, urban advertising lights, and Islamic mosaic patterns. Created by Nima Nazem Zomorodi, this design showcases a unique combination of classic and modern elements.

The Ruby Pixels earrings are a stunning example of how art, architecture, and design can come together to create a truly unique piece of jewelry. Inspired by the turning on and off of light pixels on screens, such as those found in 80s video games, and the neon red lights used in urban advertising, these earrings capture the essence of a bygone era while adding a contemporary twist.

One of the standout features of the Ruby Pixels earrings is the mosaic arrangement of Islamic patterns visible in the design. This adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall look, making them a perfect accessory for any occasion.

What sets the Ruby Pixels earrings apart from others is the innovative design and the use of two separate parts. The upper part lies on the surface of the earlobe, flush with the ergonomic lines of the ear, while the lower part features a stunning ruby piece with a teardrop cut. The suspended face hangs from the ear, creating a dynamic and eye-catching effect.

The realization of the Ruby Pixels earrings involves the use of high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The upper part includes princess cut diamonds and rubies, while the lower part features a tear-shaped ruby. The base material used is 18K gold, ensuring durability and longevity.

With dimensions of (L) 44 mm * (W) 32 mm * (H) 4 mm, the Ruby Pixels earrings make a bold statement without being overpowering. They strike the perfect balance between size and elegance, making them suitable for both casual and formal occasions.

The design process for the Ruby Pixels earrings involved extensive research and multiple prototypes. The asymmetrical color arrangement of red and white jewelry on the upper part, the difference in height of these stones, and the ergonomic placement of the upper part on the ear were all carefully considered to create a visually dynamic piece.

One of the main challenges in creating the Ruby Pixels earrings was combining the unconventional and modern design of the upper part with the classic teardrop-like hanging at the bottom. The result is a work of art that showcases high visual dynamics and captures the attention of anyone who sees it.

The Ruby Pixels earrings were designed and produced in Tehran, Iran in 2020. This design has received recognition for its creativity and ingenuity, winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

The Ruby Pixels earrings are not just a piece of jewelry; they are a work of art that combines form, function, and innovation. With their unique design and attention to detail, they are sure to make a statement and become a cherished addition to any jewelry collection.
