Combining Functionality and Style

The inspiration for 07:25 Eyewear came from the designers' observation of the similarities between watch frames and glasses frames, as well as watch hands and glasses temples. By incorporating these elements into their design, Oh and Son have created a truly distinctive piece.

One of the main challenges the designers faced was the fragility and difficulty of replacing lenses in wooden eyewear. To overcome this, they introduced a "Metallic rim" that not only reinforces the wood frame but also allows for easy lens replacement. This innovative feature sets 07:25 Eyewear apart from traditional glasses and enhances its durability.

The use of wood in eyewear is unconventional, as it is typically considered a material with low strength and elasticity. However, Oh and Son's creative use of wood, in combination with metal, adds a touch of sophistication and uniqueness to the design. The walnut wood frame, complemented by titanium accents, creates a visually striking contrast.

Measuring 148mm in width, 154mm in depth, and 52mm in height, 07:25 Eyewear is designed to fit comfortably on the wearer's face. The ergonomic design ensures a snug fit, allowing users to enjoy both style and comfort.

By opening the screw on the metal part in front of the glasses, the lens can be easily replaced, providing convenience for those who require prescription lenses or enjoy switching between different lens options.

The 07:25 Eyewear project began in August 2016 in Seoul and was completed in July 2017. It was exhibited at Kintex in South Korea, showcasing the designers' dedication to their craft and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of eyewear design.

Recognized for its exceptional design, 07:25 Eyewear was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2018. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the designers' ability to create practical and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
