Leafy Relaxing Home: A Nature-Themed Oasis in the City

Creating Harmony Through Design

The design inspiration for the Leafy Relaxing Home stems from the desire to create a harmonious environment that reflects the personalities of the family members. The elmwood used throughout the space embodies the family's dynamics, with its passionate father, gentle mother, and placid son. Dark colors and rock textures represent the father's prudence, while marble and delicate metallic lines imply the mother's astuteness. The textures of materials symbolize their personalities, with wood, rock, and white sand bringing a natural ambiance to this urban residence.

What sets the Leafy Relaxing Home apart is its unique properties and strengths. The revamp project has transformed the space into a bright and spacious home with multi-functional applications, all while maintaining the original configuration. By incorporating functional volumes lined with structural beams, the design creates a sense of unity and enlarges the space. The use of marble in small spaces adds a touch of luxury, while the integration of materials in neutral colors creates a succinct and exquisite design. A palm-leaf themed wall serves as the focal point, infusing the space with a tropical vibe.

Technological innovation plays a crucial role in the realization of the Leafy Relaxing Home. Despite a limited budget, Tsai Yu Chang has cleverly utilized focal-point themed walls to change the atmosphere. The tropical rainforest print brightens the space, while P-Tex allows for periodic changes and reuses. Wood veneer delivers a natural vibe, and the use of marble in the living room and kitchen offers a romantic mood. In the master bedroom, marble with metallic lines and bent plates adds a refined touch. Other spaces are left as clean backgrounds to highlight the visual and tactile variations of materials.

The Leafy Relaxing Home spans 62.8 square meters and showcases the meticulous attention to detail by Tsai Yu Chang and his team. The design tags of light luxury, nature, marble art, leafy design, and renovation perfectly capture the essence of this stunning project.

One of the design challenges faced by Tsai Yu Chang was creating a functional and organized space. Through the utilization of the axis between the kitchen and dining room, the design team was able to fulfill the kitchen function and expand the usable area. The addition of a bar counter made the kitchen/dining area independent yet connectable, enhancing the family's interaction and adding a touch of fun. Storage spaces were strategically placed to eliminate clutter and create a clean and organized environment.

The Leafy Relaxing Home is a testament to the power of thoughtful design. By reimagining the space and incorporating elements of nature, Tsai Yu Chang has created a harmonious oasis in the heart of the city. The vertical and horizontal axes of the design echo with each other, revealing an organized and layered beauty.
