Wonderlab: A Revolution in Packaging Design

E2W Studio's Award-Winning Design Combines Artistry and Science

Wonderlab, a nutritional beauty cosmetics brand, has undergone a packaging upgrade that merges imagination with rationality. E2W Studio, the creative force behind this transformation, has been recognized with a Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2022 for this innovative design.

The design inspiration for Wonderlab's packaging upgrade stemmed from the changes in lifestyle brought about by the pandemic. As new retail exploded and the national aesthetic awakening quietly forced brands to become more visually appealing, E2W Studio saw an opportunity to redefine the packaging of all industries in a more beautiful way. The three design keywords of this packaging upgrade were stylization, artistry, and pioneering.

Wonderlab is a brand that combines the imaginative with the scientific. The term "Wonder" signifies a realm full of imagination, while "Lab" represents rational science. This dichotomy is reflected in the packaging design, which is inspired by "Op Art", a visual art form that uses rational methods to draw variable geometric shapes, creating a magical geometric effect. This combination of rational science and perceptual imagination allows Wonderlab to break free from the constraints of fashion, presenting an aesthetic image through its packaging.

During the design process, E2W Studio focused on strengthening the visual assets of the Wonderlab brand. The brand's color, Klein blue, and the shape of the little fat bottle, were two visual assets that were not fully utilized. By stylizing these elements, the design team was able to enhance the brand's uniqueness.

The packaging design was realized using "Op Art", a visual art form that uses careful calculation to draw variable geometric shapes. Bright colors were used to achieve perceptual visual stimulation, creating a package vision that aligns with the Wonderlab concept. The design interaction was based on the two words that make up the brand name: "Wonder" and "Lab". The visual concept of this upgrade, Magic Geometry, was deduced from the name of Wonderlab.

The design project was completed in 2020. The design research focused on strengthening the current visual assets of the Wonderlab brand, so that consumers can remember them both in online retail and offline shelves. The design challenges included redefining meal replacement and exploring the era of meal replacement 4.0. Despite being a leading brand in the industry, Wonderlab was not satisfied with the status quo and was constantly seeking new breakthroughs.

In conclusion, E2W Studio's innovative packaging design for Wonderlab is a testament to the power of combining artistry with science. The design has not only redefined meal replacement packaging but has also set a new standard for the industry. The Silver A' Packaging Design Award is a well-deserved recognition of their creativity and innovation.
