Bridgeside takes inspiration from the anthropometric data and aesthetic preferences of myopic users, resulting in a frame design that perfectly fits the wearer's needs. The frames and temples can be customized by the users themselves, allowing them to choose their preferred colors and materials. Thanks to 3D printing technology, these personalized frames can be delivered to users in a short period of time.
One of the standout features of Bridgeside is the pivot-joint screwless hinge hidden in the front frame. This innovative design reduces the assembly relationship, making it convenient for users to wear and keep the glasses. The hidden hinge also adds to the overall uniqueness and integration of the product.
The frame of Bridgeside is made of titanium alloy and resin through 3D printing, pushing the boundaries of traditional eyewear manufacturing. The combination of these materials ensures the frames are resistant to high temperatures, scratches, and lightweight, while maintaining their strength. The outer side of the temples and the front surface of the frame are designed with radial textures, adding a recognizable aesthetic to the design.
By utilizing additive manufacturing, Bridgeside opens up new possibilities for frame design. The customization software accurately transforms the anthropometric data and aesthetic preferences of myopic users into a specific frame design. This process reduces manufacturing costs, shortens the production process, and makes the brand more recognizable.
The patented pivot-joint screwless hinge allows for easy wearing and folding of the glasses. The temples can be rotated around the hidden hinge, making it effortless to put on and take off the glasses. The polished titanium alloy and engineering resin surface further enhance the durability and unique integration of the product.
Bridgeside is not only a design achievement but also a technological breakthrough. It addresses the challenges of traditional craftsmanship in the eyewear industry, providing a solution that meets the needs of modern consumers. The combination of DLP 3D printing technology and metal 3D printing ensures high precision and individual customization, resulting in a comfortable and personalized eyewear experience.
This design project was carried out in China, where the competition in traditional craftsmanship is intensifying. By embracing additive manufacturing and customization, Bridgeside enables the client to develop new markets and gain the trust of consumers. The design team explored the technical route from the customized system to the surface treatment process, resulting in a design that stands out from traditional processes and schemes.
Bridgeside has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is a testament to the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the Bridgeside eyeglass frame.
