The Sky Bar, a rooftop restaurant, is a testament to the innovative design philosophy of Ketan Jawdekar. Drawing inspiration from Kolhapur's rich art, architecture, and cultural heritage, Jawdekar has incorporated the local context of the city's textile mills into the design. The restaurant features a ceiling installation of 20521 recycled paper tubes, creating an interactive and dynamic environment that oscillates with the natural breeze.

What sets the Sky Bar apart is its commitment to sustainability and green design. The use of recycled paper tubes, stone, and wood, not only makes it environmentally friendly but also adds a unique aesthetic appeal. The paper tubes, which are typically used to roll textiles, have been repurposed to create an organic pattern on the ceiling, symbolizing the repetition of a module to generate patterns, a key aspect of the design philosophy.

The realization of this design was a meticulous process. The paper tubes were coated to withstand moisture during the rainy season and against fire. The installation process involved careful coding and numbering of each tube to ensure it was fixed in the right place. The challenge of installing the ceiling on a rooftop covered with solar panels was overcome by fabricating a second frame for the installation.
