Meer: Innovative Instant Coffee Packaging

Indulgence and Refreshment in Every Cup

The Meer instant coffee packaging design by Masoud Najafi Amirkiasar offers a unique and refreshing take on traditional coffee packaging, enticing coffee lovers with its indulgent texture and eye-catching design.

When it comes to coffee packaging, most designs in the market rely on the familiar imagery of a cup of coffee or coffee beans. However, the Meer packaging breaks away from this convention, offering a fresh and distinctive approach that stands out on store shelves.

The inspiration behind the Meer design stems from the desire to capture the indulgence and refreshing texture of a cup of coffee. The designer aimed to create a packaging that not only appeals to coffee lovers but also serves as the ultimate branding element.

Unlike other coffee packaging designs, Meer incorporates the final product's texture details into the illustration, evoking the sensory experience of enjoying a cup of coffee. This unique feature sets it apart from its competitors and creates a strong connection with coffee enthusiasts.

The realization of the Meer packaging design involves a combination of photo-shooting, photo-manipulation, and illustration techniques. This meticulous process ensures that every detail is captured accurately, resulting in a visually stunning and engaging design.

The Meer packaging is designed for 15 different SKUs in 5 flavors, catering to a variety of coffee preferences. Each package is carefully crafted to showcase the bold typography and creative layout that make the design truly captivating.

One of the main goals of the Meer packaging is to entice the audience's recognition sense and create an impulse to purchase. The temptation of indulging in a delicious cup of coffee is what prompts coffee lovers to reach for this innovative packaging.

The Meer project was initiated in Tehran in November 2020 and completed in May the following year. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted, including market and competition analysis. This research revealed that cups and coffee beans were the most commonly used elements in coffee packaging designs, further highlighting the uniqueness of the Meer design.

One of the significant challenges faced during the development of the Meer packaging was striking the right balance between aesthetics and functionality. The design needed to capture the hearts and catch the eyes of coffee drinkers while still effectively serving its purpose as a packaging solution.

The Meer packaging design goes beyond the art of design; it represents an understanding of customers' preferences and the need to stand out on store shelves. By incorporating the final product's texture into the illustration and employing unconventional font sizes and layouts, Meer aims to make a serious impact on the beverage shelf of stores.

The Meer instant coffee packaging design, with its innovative approach and attention to detail, has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness of the design, which contributes to improving the quality of life for coffee lovers worldwide.
