The Carefree and Leisurely Lifestyle project, designed by Yu Ju Lin, is a residential masterpiece that embodies the essence of open space and elegance. Located in Taichung, Taiwan, this standalone house has a history of over two decades. The design team was responsible for the design and planning of the first two floors of the building, creating a space that reflects the property owners' desire for a carefree and leisurely lifestyle.

The main living area of the house embraces an open visual effect, with a facade structure that combines stone, steel, and glass. The light color tone of the space creates a dynamic aesthetic that harmonizes with the urban environment. The dining room concept integrates a bar and an open kitchen, redefining the traditional attributes of the area. Natural light floods the space, reflecting the warm expression of the materials and creating an inviting atmosphere.

The second floor of the house features a study area for the male property owner, which doubles as a home office in the post-epidemic era. The bookcase design cleverly combines display and storage functions, adding versatility to the space. The master bedroom area includes a dressing room, designed with stylish, modern, and elegant elements. Light materials are used to create a sense of quality and elegance, while layers of indirect light sources enhance the leisurely ambiance.

The bathroom space in the master suite is modeled after star-rated hotel facilities, offering a relaxing and stress-free experience. The bath and shower are thoughtfully arranged to provide maximum comfort. Throughout the entire design, the team prioritized the property owners' needs and desires, tailoring each space to their lifestyle.

The Carefree and Leisurely Lifestyle project faced several challenges, including a serious water leakage problem in the house. The design team tackled this issue by readjusting the layout and strengthening the waterproofing of the exterior walls. Through meticulous planning and attention to detail, the concept and resonance of the property owners' ideal residence were transformed into a sensible and aesthetic space.

With its unique combination of materials, attention to detail, and focus on creating a harmonious living environment, the Carefree and Leisurely Lifestyle project by Yu Ju Lin is a testament to the power of design in enhancing the quality of life. It has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023.
