House of Joy: A Colorful Haven for Modern Living

Residential Design with a Touch of Playfulness

The House of Joy, designed by Asim Yuksel, is a vibrant and pet-friendly residential project that combines modern aesthetics with functional design. Inspired by the client's love for soft colors and spaciousness, this unique house offers a haven of peace, relaxation, and joy.

Located on the 21st floor of a famous residence in Ankara, Turkey, House of Joy boasts a stunning view and a spacious terrace. The house is divided into three volumes, each serving a specific purpose. The central volume houses the living area, kitchen, and home office, while the sleeping quarters feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The terrace quarter offers an outdoor space, dining room, and a library, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living.

One of the standout features of House of Joy is its pet-friendly design. The designer, Asim Yuksel, took into consideration the client's beloved cat when planning the space. The TV unit includes a dedicated playground and climbing area for the feline friend, ensuring both comfort and entertainment. Additionally, food containers and litter boxes are cleverly integrated into custom-made furniture, maintaining a clean and organized living environment.

The design of House of Joy is characterized by amorphous lines and a predominantly white color palette, creating a sense of lightness and serenity. The use of pastel colors, wood textures, and natural lighting further enhances the overall ambiance of the space. The designer carefully selected design items from renowned brands such as Miniforms, Varier Furniture, Tom Dixon, Foscarini, and Marset, blending custom-made pieces with established design elements.

Throughout the design process, the designer utilized 3D renders and plans to effectively communicate the vision to the client. By incorporating the client's daily life and needs, the designer created a space that is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. Walls were rebuilt, ceilings were reconstructed, and the terrace area was expanded to maximize the living space and improve the overall flow of the house.

The House of Joy project, which started in March 2022 and was completed in June 2022, perfectly embodies the client's desire for simplicity, comfort, functionality, and modernity. The integration of the cat's needs into the design adds a playful element to the space, making it a truly unique and joyful home.

Recognizing its excellence in interior space design, House of Joy was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2023. This award is a testament to the project's innovative and practical approach, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
