Minsk Airport: A Gateway to Belarusian Elegance

Recs Architects Unveils Private Jet Terminal Inspired by Belarus

Recs Architects' latest project, the Minsk Airport Private Jet Terminal, is a testament to contemporary design and cultural representation, setting a new standard for luxury travel in Belarus.

The Minsk Airport Private Jet Terminal, designed by the visionary team at Recs Architects, is not just a building but a statement of Belarusian pride and ambition. The terminal serves as a window to the nation, offering international travelers their first and last impressions of Belarus. It's a space where the essence of the country is communicated through a blend of modern design and local inspiration. The terminal encompasses a range of facilities including a reception hall, lounge, bar, meeting room, and VIP saloon, each space crafted to provide a serene and sophisticated experience.

Recs Architects' approach to the terminal's interior design is characterized by a dramatic entrance hall that sets the tone for the entire space. The reception area features an expansive wall that extends its influence throughout the terminal, creating a cohesive and striking environment. The centerpiece, a grand staircase with brass balustrades, connects the floors while maintaining a unified aesthetic that hints at the sleekness of aeronautical machinery.

Lighting plays a pivotal role in the design, with a large globe illuminating the main hall, constructed from brass profiles that echo the spiral staircase. Below, a wind rose crafted from marble and brass inlays adorns the floor, grounding the space in a sense of place and direction. The meeting room boasts an oval table with a black mirror surface, reflecting dynamic light patterns that enliven the room.

The journey through the terminal culminates on the roof floor, where a glass corridor, reminiscent of a skywalk, offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. This path leads to the VIP saloon, a space defined by a grand fireplace and expansive windows that frame the runway, inviting travelers to take in one final view of Belarus before departure.

Spanning 600 square meters, the Minsk Airport Private Jet Terminal is a product of international collaboration, with architects Pier Maria Giordani and Chen Zhen leading a team that includes Francesco Quadrelli, Giulio Viglioli, Marija Milenkoska, and Andrea Longhi. The project, which began in 2018 and overcame challenges posed by the pandemic, was completed in 2021, marking a significant milestone in Belarusian architectural design.

The Minsk Airport Private Jet Terminal has been recognized for its design excellence with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for 2024. This accolade is a testament to the project's well-executed design, practicality, and innovation, fulfilling the highest professional and industrial standards and contributing to a better, more connected world.
