Shengtao Ma's Speaker Design Marries Innovation with Chinese Lanterns

The Sirocco speaker stands out with its unique honeycomb structure, a design choice inspired by the intricate patterns of Chinese lanterns. The top foldable honeycomb section can be rotated for assembly or disassembly, simplifying the processes of replacement, storage, and maintenance. Sirocco's connectivity options are as versatile as its design. It can seamlessly pair with devices via Bluetooth or through a wired connection, offering users flexibility in how they choose to enjoy their music. Developed at Qingdao University of Technology, the Sirocco project spanned from August 2023 to February 2024. It represents a successful fusion of design research and practical application, resulting in a product that not only meets high-fidelity sound standards but also introduces a fresh, humanized approach to speaker design.

Shengtao Ma's Sirocco has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Audio and Sound Equipment Design category for 2024. This accolade is a testament to the speaker's design excellence, acknowledging its practicality, innovation, and its ability to evoke positive emotions while contributing to a better world through design.
