Season's Greetings: A Fashionable Twist on Christmas Cards

Jens Lattke's Award-Winning Design Fuses Fashion and Festivity

Jens Lattke's design inspiration for the 'Season's Greetings' card was born out of the need to reflect the high-value clothing and special shopping experience offered by the CBR Fashion Group. The goal was to communicate this standard to customers during the festive season in a unique and individual way. The card was designed to appeal to the senses, particularly touch, which plays an increasingly significant role in the fashion industry. The card's graphic design, featuring a stylish Rudolph the reindeer, reflects the fashion theme, with the clever twist of turning his antlers into hangers.

The uniqueness of the design lies in its material and stylistic elements. The card is made of 100% cotton, providing a soft and pleasant touch that reinforces the connection with fashion. The clear and stylistic design of the card, featuring Rudolph the red-nosed-reindeer, underlines the identity of CBR as a leading company in modern casual women's clothing. The scarf worn by Rudolph further emphasizes the fashion element.

The card was produced using a material called 'Reindeer', and the paper used is Gmund cotton linen cream, 300g. It was printed in four-color. The dimensions of the card are 210 mm x 148 mm. The graphic and all texts are stamped into the cotton material, enhancing the tactile experience for the recipient.

The design project, which started and finished in Reichenberg in December, presented several challenges. The main challenge was to create an attractive design that combined the Christmas season with the fashion business. The design also had to communicate a year characterized by numerous changes, such as restructuring measures within the company. The reindeer with its 12 strong antler points symbolizes CBR mastering twelve heavy, difficult months.

The 'Season's Greetings' card design was recognized with the Iron A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2013. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrate industry best practices, and provide fulfillment and positive feelings, contributing to a better world.
