FLOW LINE: A Unique Office Building Design by Kris Lin

Creating a Sense of Flow and Fortune

The space on site is irregular and curvilinear due to the layout of the exterior wall of the building. Inspired by the belief of Chinese people that water brings fortune and luckiness, renowned designer Kris Lin has transformed this irregular space into a stunning office building design called FLOW LINE.

FLOW LINE is not your typical office building. It stands out with its unique use of flowing lines and a theme inspired by the concept of water. Kris Lin, known for his innovative designs, has successfully created a space that not only captures attention but also reflects the identity of the investment consulting company that occupies it.

The irregular shape of the site posed a challenge, but Kris Lin turned it into an opportunity. By applying a curve line design, the building takes on a dynamic and fluid appearance. The flow lines not only serve as a visual element but also act as entrances to the exterior, surrounding three key areas: the lobby and reception area, the conference room, and the coffee shop.

What sets FLOW LINE apart is the incorporation of the company's structure and beliefs into the design. With six departments in the company, Kris Lin uses six lines to symbolize each department. These lines extend from the ceiling down to the floor, with the department logo displayed on them. The lines converge inside the Chairman Room, creating a visually striking focal point. The Chairman Room features a sandblasted acrylic bookcase combined with LED lights, producing luminous and flowing lines that captivate anyone who enters the space.

The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of FLOW LINE. A U-shaped platform made of coffee travertine highlights the significance of the chairman's position, adding a touch of elegance and prestige to the overall design.

The realization of FLOW LINE involved the use of various materials, including veneers, Africa Spot Veneers, Noce Travertine, Hair Line Stainless Steel, Glass, Acrylic, Fluoro-carbon Paint, and Emulsion Paint. The combination of these materials adds depth and texture to the design, enhancing its visual appeal.

With a total area of 500 square meters, FLOW LINE offers a spacious and functional environment for the company's operations. The design maximizes the irregular space, transforming it into a harmonious and inspiring workplace.

Located in Guangzhou, China, FLOW LINE is a testament to Kris Lin's creativity and expertise in the field of architecture and design. It is a design that has garnered recognition and accolades, including the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2014. This award recognizes the outstanding expertise and innovation demonstrated in FLOW LINE, showcasing its remarkable level of excellence and ability to evoke positive emotions.

FLOW LINE is not just an office building; it is a masterpiece that combines art, architecture, design, and technology to create a space that is both functional and visually captivating. Kris Lin's vision and attention to detail have resulted in a design that truly stands out in the world of office buildings.
