Qin Service Center: A Masterpiece by Chin-Feng Wu & Chih-Sheng Fan

Award-Winning Design Transforms Natural Elements into Workable Design

Chin-Feng Wu & Chih-Sheng Fan's Qin Service Center is an architectural marvel that transforms natural elements into a unique and inviting space. This award-winning design serves as a testament to the power of innovative design and the potential of architecture to create engaging, functional spaces.

The inspiration for the Qin Service Center came from the overlapping and flowing features of clouds and the zigzag, repeated, extendable features of sound waves. These natural elements were reinterpreted and incorporated into the design of the reception and meeting areas, creating a unique and engaging space for visitors.

The lobby's ceiling extends to the overlapping and flowing wall panels, giving the stone wall a cloud-wreathed effect. The contrast of colors and textures creates a rhythm of its own, while deliberate gaps in the wooden walls introduce slivers of light, creating a warm and serene space. The timber strips of the partition were curved to create a 3D effect, adding to the layered and multifaceted design of the space.

The Qin Service Center was realized using a variety of materials, including natural marble-Italian grey, natural teakwood veneer with steel brushes, black cultured stone, black dyed wood veneer, imported patterned leather, flame-resistant carpets, and wooden laser-cut boards. The interior area spans 413 square meters, offering ample space for visitors to explore and engage with the design.

The project serves as a place where visitors can learn more about new housing developments. The visually 3-dimensional space design encourages people to yearn for a better style of living that combines aesthetics and functionality.

The design project, which took place from January 2014 to April 2014 in New Taipei City, faced the challenge of converting natural phenomena into workable design elements. The designers successfully overcame this challenge, creating a design that is both inviting and remarkable.

The Qin Service Center was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2015. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. It is a testament to the extraordinary excellence of the Qin Service Center and its significant impact on the world of design.
