Tavolo Livelli: A Table with Double the Functionality

Tavolo Livelli is a unique table design by Wouter van Riet Paap that features two tabletops with a space in between for storage. The designer's aim was to utilize the often overlooked space under the table, transforming it into a functional and aesthetically pleasing storage solution. Tavolo Livelli is constructed using wood, specifically MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard). The design process involved the use of 3D software, followed by several 3D prints to finalize the design. The dimensions of the table are 1800 mm x 800 mm x 760 mm, making it suitable for various living spaces.

During the design process, Wouter van Riet Paap conducted extensive research to ensure the table's functionality and aesthetic appeal. Mock-ups were created to find the right balance between height, storage space, and comfortable seating. Additionally, the designer focused on maintaining the table's strength without compromising its visual appeal, resulting in precise dimensioning.

Tavolo Livelli is not only a practical piece of furniture but also a winner of the prestigious A' Design Award. In 2014, it was awarded the Bronze A' Furniture Design Award, recognizing its outstanding creativity and resourcefulness.
