Office Box: A Unique and Playful Office Space Design

A Fun and Functional Approach to Office Design

With a construction area of 250 square meters, the Office Box design utilizes the concept of a box as the central element. Two irregular boxes are cleverly integrated into the space, connecting different functional areas. The meeting room features transparent glass partition walls, creating a sense of openness and clarity. The overall color scheme is predominantly white, reflecting the company culture and complementing the box-like structure. The lighting design adds a touch of casual elegance, with each lamp strategically placed to create a relaxed atmosphere.

What sets the Office Box design apart is its non-conformity. While satisfying the functional requirements of an office space, it also brings joy and cheerfulness to the users. The design encourages a sense of playfulness and creativity, making work a fun and enjoyable experience.

This innovative design was realized using toughened glass, compound floor, marble, and emulsion paint. The combination of these materials adds to the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of the space.

Entering the Office Box, users are greeted by a large box structure that spans the entire space. Each functional area is accessed through this box, creating a unique inside-out feeling. Moving from one area to another requires exiting the box and re-entering it, enhancing the spatial experience and efficiency. The design challenges the traditional office layout and offers a fresh perspective on how workspaces can be designed.

The Office Box design project started in January 2013 in Nanjing, China, and was completed in July 2013. It was awarded the 2014 Chinese Society of Interior Design Office Engineering Gold Medal, recognizing its innovative and exceptional design.
