Da Si Xi: Redefining Restaurant Interior Design

A Unique Blend of Tradition and Innovation

About the practicality and aesthetics, we built in sets of mobile recharging outlets on the shelves above the tables, besides the fact that all kinds of mobile can be recharged on the site; it also fits the ergonomic concern of human eyesight and keeps the eating area tidy. We used three Chinese characters, the name of this restaurant: Da Si Xi (Big Four Happiness) transforming to become the interior installations, Ceiling design imitates the Chines font "Da", and the dining box design imitates the Chines font "Si" "Xi". Especially Xi means boys and girls get together and have happy endings, therefore we created a box where makes two people come in and enjoy a wonderful dinner. We believe the truth that users are always an important part of design elements. Users complete the design. (ps. Please refer to the photo No. ) San cai, this means the sky, the earth and the human. These are concepts from the Chinese classical philosophy book: Yi Jing (Book of Changes) to create a nice restaurant space. This design overturned the stereotype of common establishments of restaurant environment in steady tone of colors to construct the atmosphere of feast.

The unique feature of Da Si Xi lies in the incorporation of mobile recharging outlets on the shelves above the long table. This arrangement caters to the growing need for recharging mobile devices while dining out. Regardless of the brand of cellphone or electronic device, consumers can conveniently recharge their devices without needing an adaptor cable. The devices are also placed in a visible and accessible location, ensuring that consumers do not forget them. This innovative design not only enhances the dining experience but also recognizes the importance of mobile devices in our lives.

Another standout feature of Da Si Xi is the combination of traditional and modern design elements. The hollow sculptures of partitions throughout the restaurant feature both traditional Eastern and modern Western symmetric patterns. This design dialogue creates a unique and visually appealing ambiance, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of China while embracing contemporary aesthetics.

Furthermore, Da Si Xi offers a diverse dining experience with individual boxes and a public canteen in the eating area. The recharging shelves act as subtle visual dividers, ensuring both openness and privacy for diners. This design approach creates a sociable and comfortable eating environment, catering to the needs of different individuals and groups.

By successfully marrying practicality and aesthetics, Da Si Xi has redefined restaurant interior design.
