George Tumpalov's Fairy Tale Castle: A Marvel of Design and Architecture

Unveiling the Magic of 'In Love with the Wind'

George Tumpalov's architectural masterpiece, 'In Love with the Wind,' is a unique fairy tale castle that has captivated the world. This article delves into the design inspiration, unique properties, and the realization technology of this award-winning project.

George Tumpalov's 'In Love with the Wind' is a stunning tourist attraction that stands out for its unique fairy style. Unlike the classic Western European castles that combine various styles from the Renaissance and Romantic periods, this castle is a dream come true from fairy tales. The castle's name is derived from the incredible natural phenomenon where the wind in the castle only appears when the sun is shining.

The castle's unique properties lie in its construction and the dream that inspired it. Built entirely from 20,000 tons of stone, the castle is a magical place with a main building, a beautiful lake with swans, a place for fishing, horses for riding, art galleries, a winery, a chapel, a game zone, and an incredible garden with more than 3000 different flowers and trees.

The realization technology of the castle is remarkable. The stone used in the construction was specially extracted from the bowels of the earth in a nearby mountain. This metamorphosed limestone can be found in every part of the structure, from the fence to the artificial lake, the walls, towers, the chapel, and the cellar. These stones are estimated to be between 227 to 247 million years old.

The castle's technical specifications are equally impressive. The main construction material is marble limestone, and the castle is a cross-shaped building, possibly the biggest of its kind in the world. The roof is covered with 53 tons of copper metal, and the lake is 5 meters deep. The park is home to more than 3000 different flowers and trees.

The castle is not just a marvel of architecture and design but also a hub of activities. It offers plenty of attractions such as a game zone, wine tasting, art gallery, horse riding, and fishing. It is also an excellent location for wedding ceremonies, family parties, and many international folk and art competitions.

The project, which started in 1996 near the village of Ravadinovo, faced many challenges. The biggest obstacle was changing the mindset of people who never believed that such a big project could be realized. Despite these challenges, the castle has become more attractive than initially expected and has been used as a natural decor for movie productions from Hollywood, Russia, and India.

In conclusion, 'In Love with the Wind' is a testament to George Tumpalov's architectural genius. The castle's unique design, coupled with its natural beauty and wide range of activities, has made it a must-visit tourist attraction. It is no surprise that this design was awarded the Golden in A' Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design Award in 2016.
