The inspiration for the design came from the client's interesting idea of combining the Milanese emblem and the Swiss cross, as they have similar features. The pictograms were designed to be the same height so that they can be easily combined for all formats. The self-constructed, modern lettering "DOMM" is accompanied by the classic text font Bodoni from the north Italian font designer Giambattista Bodoni.
The strength of this design lies in its ability to capture the essence of traditional cuisine while presenting it in a modern and visually appealing way. The pictograms, with their strict geometrical patterns and minimalistic elements, draw inspiration from the art design style of the past century. The use of only a few elements creates a cohesive and visually striking system.
The realization of the design involved the use of digital print on the recycling paper "popset storm" for various applications. For the food menu, silk-screen printing was employed to achieve a tactile and high-quality finish.
Studio Eusebio, led by Luca Eusebio and Giorgio Favotto, worked on this project in Zurich from March 2014 to September 2014. Their attention to detail and innovative approach resulted in a design that perfectly captures the essence of DOMM and its cuisine.
This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Advertising, Marketing, and Communication Design category in 2016. This award is a testament to the outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill demonstrated by Studio Eusebio. The design showcases a remarkable level of excellence and evokes positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
