The design's uniqueness lies in its application of light and shade contrasts and the creation of a sensory space. Upon entering the exhibition center, visitors are immediately drawn to the black glossy walls and white marble polished floor of the atrium. Scattered keywords and product figures adorn the wall, instantly communicating the company's core values and ideas.
The exhibition center was brought to life using a plethora of Indian black slates and wood block walls, creating a tasteful and refined showroom. The design evokes the sensation of wandering through a verdant forest, offering a serene and remote atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the hustle and bustle of city life.
The concept of a forest journey is particularly evident in the shower faucet showroom. Here, LED light bars extend from the ceiling to a sink made from black stones, symbolizing a clear spring flowing from rocks in a dark valley. This design element purifies visitors' minds and soothes their spirits.
The design's technical specifications include a first-floor area of 208 square meters and a second-floor area of 192 square meters. The project, located in the West District of Taichung City, Taiwan, was completed in September 2015.
Li-Ling Chang's design faced and overcame several challenges. The exhibition center is not just a showroom but a space endowed with life, spirit, and profound meaning. The design represents a gentle moment, a space where one can find peace amidst the greenery, a stark contrast to the city's irritability.
The Derek Exhibition Center design was awarded Silver in the A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2017. This prestigious accolade is reserved for top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design's strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill introduced positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
