The design team has meticulously planned the interior of the hotel, preserving the brilliant culture of 'three squares and a screen wall' in the development of its residence. The modern adornment on the screen wall transforms according to the change of temperature and luminance, harmonizing perfectly with the ancient Bai's compound. The hotel's unique properties lie in its ability to blend modern design techniques with the preservation of the main structure and facade of the old compound.
The materials used in the realization of this design include wood finishes, antique copper, granite, grey marble, timber floor, and rustic tile. The plot covers an area of 1,200 square meters, with an interior area of 850 square meters. The design team faced the challenge of dividing functional spaces and accommodating discharge capacity, as the existing residences were built by the local people without any reference construction drawings.
The design process was guided by the philosophy of co-existing old and new, leading to a design method that contrasts the interior and exterior. The design respects individual habits and emotions, making the rooms convenient and comfortable. The spotless rooms and unsophisticated teahouse both display a beauty independent of clamor and vanity. The hotel offers a place to sit and overlook the distant mountains or to make tea after a restful noon.
The project was completed between 2015 and 2016 in Dali Ancient City, Yunan, China. The intellectual property rights for the design belong to Co-Direction Interior Design, and the images were captured by photographer Jing Xufeng. The design was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2017, a testament to its marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creation.
In conclusion, Change Vacation Hotel Dali is a testament to the power of design in revitalizing and transforming spaces. It is a perfect blend of modernism and traditionalism, offering a unique and comfortable space for guests to enjoy their stay. The design is a reflection of the designers' prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with its desirable characteristics.
