Living in Quiet and Neat

A Contemporary Residence Designed by Pi-Lan Hsu

With the spatial philosophy of modest and accurate, this project can fulfill and touch the owner's deep mind. The designer's long-term practical experiences, the aesthetic senses and the sincere insights are the necessary properties to derive out the highest living quality for this design project.

The Living in Quiet and Neat residence, designed by Pi-Lan Hsu, is a testament to the power of simplicity and contemporary fashion. Spanning 155 square meters, this house serves as the first real estate for a young and successful owner who values living aesthetics and seeks the simplicity of modern design.

The main color palette of black, white, and grey sets the tone for the meaningful walls that gently settle within the space. The addition of black iron lines in the design composition draws out a unique atmosphere, while the careful balance between black and white showcases the designer's attention to aesthetics. Titanium frames with translucent scenes add a touch of contemporary fashion to the space.

One of the key challenges in this project was the tint control of the black, white, and grey colors. While these colors are often used in interior design, creating a unique design atmosphere with their proportions is no easy feat. However, Pi-Lan Hsu's heartfelt consideration and meticulous attention to detail have resulted in a space that exudes elegance and sophistication.

The design configuration of the Living in Quiet and Neat residence reflects the owner's personality and lifestyle. The open and refreshing aura connects the living room and dining room seamlessly, while the multi-function study room utilizes glass partition walls to create a sense of spaciousness and openness.

The material textures, with their organic and random features, are carefully matched with the geometric lines of the design, creating a spatial aesthetic that balances conflict, contrast, and harmony. The natural stone material, with its light-colored gray tones, resembles flowing clouds, and the meticulous arrangement of seam lines creates a harmonious proportion of rectangles.

Completed in February 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan, the Living in Quiet and Neat residence is a testament to Pi-Lan Hsu's expertise in spatial design. This project was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2017, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature that meets professional and industrial requirements. The design's integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics contributes to a better world, providing fulfillment and positive feelings.
