The Awareness of Living Space

The inspiration for this design came from the tick-tick sound flowing out from the wall, which is reflected in the texture of white marble to evoke a sense of endless time and space. The design aims to create a harmonious balance between the owner's life essence and the design intention, resulting in a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

One of the unique properties of this design is the use of existing furniture, such as the Italian sofa from the previous house. Despite being used, the sofa has not depreciated over the years but has gained sophistication and personality. This approach not only adds character to the space but also promotes sustainability.

The design of The Awareness of Living Space emphasizes the importance of family and encourages spending quality time together. The layout of the living room and kitchen, for example, allows parents to keep an eye on their children while they are in different areas of the house. The integration of the dining room and kitchen also facilitates a smooth flow and creates private spaces for different activities.

This 150 square meter residence was completed in May 2015 in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design process involved extensive research to understand the client's needs and routines. By incorporating their expectations and habits, the design team was able to create a space that truly reflects the client's lifestyle.

The Awareness of Living Space was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This recognition highlights the design's outstanding creativity and ingenuity, as well as its contribution to improving quality of life through the incorporation of art, science, design, and technology.
