The Dark Green dress was created by Qianyi Zhang and her team. The project started in February 2016 and was completed in August 2016 in Beijing. It was later exhibited in Ordos in September 2016, where it received acclaim for its innovative design and artistic interpretation of nature.

The Dark Green dress is a result of extensive research and experimentation with knitting techniques such as eyelet, garter stitch, transfer stitch, pique stripe, partial row knitting, jacquard, float, and intarsia.
