Atelier Pod's Award-Winning Design Inspired by Omani Architecture

The resort, located 2,000m above sea level, boasts a built-up area of 24,000m². It includes 115 keys, six restaurants and lounges, a spa, and recreation facilities. The design reflects the commanding mountain citadels of the region, with a freestanding tower on the western side of the courtyard echoing the ancient Omani Keep, or Burj. This tower, distinctive by its conical curvature and smooth encircling ramp, serves a contemporary function within the resort.

Atelier Pod's design approach was to configure visitors’ experiences in sequences to arouse distinctive emotions inspired by the view, the architecture, and the landscape. The resort is not just a place to stay; it's a journey through a modern interpretation of Omani architecture and culture. The falaj-inspired canals in the Spa instill the quiet sound of flowing water throughout the resort, enhancing the overall tranquility and luxury of the space.

The design team, led by Lotfi Sidirahal, Remi Feghali, and Stephane Valcroze, began construction in December 2013 and completed the project in September 2016. Their efforts have resulted in a design that marries tradition with modernity, creating a unique and luxurious resort experience.
