Splice: A Floor Lamp Inspired by Childhood

Splice stands out from other floor lamps with its use of lighter and environmentally friendly 6mm MDF boards as the overall support. The lamp is made up of a total of 22 boards, carefully spliced together using a combination of triangular and tenon structures. This innovative design not only enhances the lamp's stability but also allows for easy packaging and transportation.

The highlight of Splice is its innovative tenon shape structure. Zhipeng Lee, with the help of an Italian friend and extensive testing, has successfully created a lamp that is both aesthetically pleasing and stable. The use of laser-cut 6mm MDF boards ensures precision and durability in the construction of Splice.

Measuring H1400mm with a shade height of H250mm and a base height of H1090mm, Splice is designed to fit seamlessly into any living space. The 6mm MDF boards used in the lamp meet the E0 Chinese standard, with formaldehyde emission levels less than or equal to 0.5mg/L, making it an environmentally conscious choice.

Splice's unique design and use of natural materials make it a perfect fit for those who appreciate nature-inspired aesthetics. The lamp's easy assembly and disassembly allow for hassle-free installation and transportation. Splice was completed in Huizhou, Guangdong Province in February 2017. Zhipeng Lee's research on environmental protection and natural materials played a crucial role in the design process. Overcoming challenges in the stability of the MDF board support structure, Lee's dedication to creating a sustainable and aesthetically pleasing lamp shines through in Splice.

Splice has been recognized for its excellence in design, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2018. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, showcasing innovation, practicality, and fulfillment.
