Boyue Xijiao Mansion: A Modern Oriental Residence

Integrating Eastern Elements with Modern Design

The Boyue Xijiao Mansion, designed by Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang, is a unique prototype house that seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with traditional Oriental elements. With its use of stainless steel screens and LED lights, this residence showcases the perfect fusion of modernity and Eastern charm.

Located in Shanghai, China, the Boyue Xijiao Mansion stands as a testament to the designers' vision of creating a living space that exudes both elegance and cultural heritage. Inspired by the desire to integrate Oriental feelings into a modern residence, Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang chose to use Chinese screens as the background wall of the project. However, they took it a step further by using stainless steel to create new material screens, symbolizing the fusion of modern and Eastern design.

The use of LED lights plays a crucial role in highlighting the unique features of this residence. The designers strategically placed LED lights on the stairs, creating a mesmerizing glow that illuminates the entire staircase. This innovative use of lighting adds a touch of contemporary sophistication to the overall design.

One of the standout features of the Boyue Xijiao Mansion is the meticulous attention to detail in the selection of materials. The project extensively utilizes marble, adding a luxurious and timeless touch to the interior. Additionally, the designers carefully selected stone materials, ensuring that each piece showcases the most special and unique characteristics.

With a total area of 230 square meters, this three-floor single-family villa offers a spacious and comfortable living environment. The layout of the building prioritizes leisure and artistic functions, providing residents with a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing space to call home.

Undoubtedly, the design of the Boyue Xijiao Mansion presented its fair share of challenges. The creation of the fine stainless steel screens required high precision and expertise, with the smallest parts measuring less than one centimeter. Additionally, the selection of stone materials demanded careful consideration to ensure the perfect grain and texture.

The Boyue Xijiao Mansion is a testament to the designers' commitment to creating a modern, yet culturally rich living space. By seamlessly integrating Oriental elements with contemporary design, Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang have crafted a residence that is both visually stunning and functional.

Recognized for its exceptional design, the Boyue Xijiao Mansion was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang's creation has undoubtedly contributed to a better world through its integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.

With the Boyue Xijiao Mansion, Kris Lin and Jiayu Yang have not only created a stunning residence but also a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of tradition and modernity.
