The design, which won the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, is a tribute to the city's musical heritage. The designers drew inspiration from the echoes of the Bell And Drum Towers and the captivating sound of sanxian, a three-string musical instrument popular during the early 1990s. The design aims to replicate the simple and humble life attitude of the past, reflecting the unique feeling of a local who has experienced the city's transition.
The Beijing Cangsu Company Headquarters is more than just a building; it's a space that tells stories and recalls memorable moments. The design's unique properties lie in its simplicity and human touch. The main dining space, divided into six compartments, offers a poetic and simple lifestyle away from the city's bustles. The minimal design, devoid of all artificial decorates, exudes subtle grace and elegance.
Real wood floor wall and indoor bamboo growth contribute to the design's natural and relaxed ambiance. The use of wood material, designed to bring out its primitive beauty, calms the heart. The 2600 square meter space delivers a feeling of tranquility and devoid of greed in the chaotic city.
The project, which started in September 2016 in Beijing, China, and finished in August 2017, faced the challenge of originality. Every design element is original, reflecting the designers' commitment to uniqueness. The design research was deeply rooted in the city's cultural and musical history, adding depth and authenticity to the project.
In conclusion, the Beijing Cangsu Company Headquarters by Yi Chen and Muchen Zhang is a remarkable example of how architecture can reflect cultural transitions. The design, which won the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, is a tribute to Beijing's past, offering a tranquil and humble space in the midst of the city's hustle. It's a testament to the designers' ability to capture the spirit of a city and translate it into a timeless and elegant design.
