Revolutionizing Automobile Brochures: The Nissan X-Trail

E-graphics communications Redefines Perspective in SUV Advertising

Unveiling the innovative design approach that E-graphics communications employed in creating the brochure for the Nissan X-Trail, this article explores how the team redefined the concept of SUV advertising.

The Nissan X-Trail brochure, designed by E-graphics communications, is not just a mere promotional material. It is a testament to the authentic perspective of a genuine SUV. The brochure was designed with the thrill of outdoor sports in mind, aiming to show customers perspectives unreachable with any other cars.

The unique properties of this brochure lie in its ability to evolve the way customers see the X-Trail. By showcasing real scenes of outdoor sports and aerial views of extreme sceneries, the brochure captures the reader's attention with its "cool" factor. The brochure is not just about the car; it's about the lifestyle that comes with it.

The realization of this design involved a meticulous process. To depict the reality of the most powerful SUV, actual vehicles were used for shooting in real environments. The team spent about two months travelling across Japan for shootings, capturing each moment of the car running and top athletes performing outdoor sports scenes. The brochure's innovative copies communicate the X-Trail’s high potential to people immediately.

The technical specifications of the brochure further reflect its commitment to sustainability. The brochure uses “FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved paper”, which is made from thinned wood. The size of the brochure is a 250-mm square with 70 pages, saddle stitched.

In Japan, automobile brochures are considered as an incentive item for targeted customers. Therefore, a brochure must convey both emotional and functional qualities to the potential buyer. The X-Trail brochure does just that, allowing the new owner to fantasize about driving it, while waiting for the car to be delivered.

The creative challenge was to create a brochure that evokes the real thrill and enjoyment of outdoor sports. The team traveled across the country for location selection to shoot, depicted reality by bringing in an actual vehicle to each environment, and used top athletes to create a realistic sensation. This brochure creation was aimed to impress the targeted customers who challenge outdoor sports seriously.

The Nissan X-Trail brochure's innovative design and unique approach to advertising earned it the Golden A' Advertising, Marketing and Communication Design Award in 2018. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
