Queen's Road: A Sophisticated Show Flat DesignA Modern Twist on Classic British Style
Throughout the office, a classic British style prevails, however a modern twist has been added thanks to the use of a wide range of rich materials such as marble, wood, glass, and metal. Classic chevron wooden flooring lies underfoot, blending into the wall, while the color scheme revolves around light wood, creating a sense of harmony and warmth. Accessorized with perfect accents of champagne-gold metal, a modern touch has been added through the peacock blue fabric furniture.
This top-floor office, known as Queen's Road, is located in a prime spot in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. It occupies a prestigious space that combines two separate units and a lift lobby. The open-plan interior design and floor-to-ceiling windows provide a panoramic view of the city, reminiscent of London's central business district. Designed exclusively for the Group's chairman, this space serves as a place to work, receive guests, and showcase an extensive collection of wine and antiques.
The Queen's Road show flat design stands out with its unique features and strengths. The combination of classic British style with modern elements creates a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere. The use of rich materials such as marble, wood, glass, and metal adds a touch of luxury to the space. The chevron wooden flooring seamlessly blends into the walls, while the light wood color scheme creates a sense of harmony and warmth. The peacock blue fabric furniture adds a modern touch and complements the champagne-gold metal accents.
With a total area of 143 square meters, Queen's Road offers ample space for work and gatherings. The open-plan layout allows for a seamless flow between different areas, while the floor-to-ceiling windows provide abundant natural light and stunning views. The design also takes into consideration the chairman's collection of wine and antiques, creating a space that beautifully showcases these treasures.
The design process for Queen's Road was not without its challenges. The tight timeline and construction period required careful planning and execution. However, the result is a show flat design that combines elegance, functionality, and a touch of modernity.
Queen's Road was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements. Queen's Road stands as a testament to the fusion of art, science, design, and technology, making it a truly outstanding and creatively ingenious space.
