There are various brands and styles of watches on the market, but the watch industry is still in a very conservative stage in terms of watch design. Although there are different styles to choose from, however, each watch is limited to one form and cannot be interchangeable. Right now, the straps are the only replaceable piece on the timepiece, but that is about to change. Introducing Infinitio; the modular watch series will revolutionize the industry and allowing the end user to build a timepiece for themselves that is unique for every occasion.
The Infinitio is a series of modular watches designed by Aspire Gears Inc. Each watch consists of an outer casing, an inner housing, and a replaceable strap. What sets Infinitio apart from other watches is its interchangeability. The current set includes four outer casings, three inner housings, and three straps with different materials. With these components and its various colorways, users can create more than a thousand combinations, and with the continuous development of parts each year, it gives customers genuinely customizable timepieces when desired.
Made with Miyota 9100 and 82S7 Automatic movements, the Infinitio watches are a blend of functionality and style. The outer casings are crafted using forged carbon, providing a higher weight to strength ratio. The inner housing is equipped with double domed sapphire crystal and is 5ATM waterproof, ensuring durability and protection.
The Infinitio watches have a dimension of 45 mm x 14.8 mm outer casing with a 22 mm lug width, making them comparable in size to other watches on the market. The user-friendly design allows for easy replacement of the inner housing. Simply raise the two levels and rotate counterclockwise to open the case. After replacing the inner casing, turn the case back clockwise to secure the housing.
The Infinitio project started in late 2017 and was realized into a prototype by Autumn of 2018. Extensive research was conducted to ensure the quality and functionality of the watch. Aspire Gears Inc. has been working closely with Miyota movements for over a decade, recognizing their superior quality compared to Swiss movements. Additionally, the development of the forged carbon casing was a significant breakthrough in achieving the desired weight to strength ratio.
The design process for the Infinitio watches was not without its challenges. The main obstacle was the size constraint. Aspire Gears Inc. aimed to create a timepiece that matched the dimensions of existing watches in the market. This affected the design of the inner casing, as finding room within the compacted space for all the components proved to be quite tricky. Sacrifices were made to reduce the dial layer and optimize the internal structure.
The Infinitio watch series offers a unique and innovative approach to watch design. With its interchangeable components, users can assemble different watches according to their personal preferences or the occasion. The combinations are limitless, resulting in "One Watch, Endless Possibilities."
The Infinitio design has been recognized for its creativity and ingenuity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2019. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding designs that showcase technical and creative skills while contributing to quality of life improvements.
