As frequent travelers and everyday commuters, the designers at Geneeo were inspired by the struggle of finding power sockets and transporting devices. Existing smart backpacks offered only an external port to recharge one device and had only a pocket for the laptop, leading to a messy and inefficient system. The Genius Pack Platinum was born out of this need for a more organized and efficient way to carry and charge multiple devices.
The Genius Pack Platinum stands out with its integrated charging system that can charge up to four devices simultaneously, compatible with any kind of power bank. The backpack also features an integrated power bank pocket, three integrated USB extensions, and an integrated micro USB input port to recharge the power bank directly from any USB charger. The smart layout includes pockets for tablets up to 10 inches and laptops up to 15.6 inches, along with numerous holes and elastic bands to keep cables organized. All these features are housed in a sleek Italian design made from high-quality materials.
The backpack is made from high-quality frosted nylon, which is splash-proof, and features padded shoulder straps and laptop pockets. The design is available in black and grey, making it a stylish accessory for any traveler or commuter. The backpack measures 435mm x 290mm x 105mm and includes three USB extensions up to 3A, a Type-C to Type-C up to 3A, a Micro-USB up to 2.4A, and a Micro-USB to Type-C adapter up to 2.4A.
The Genius Pack Platinum is operated through a power bank (not included) and a system of cables (included), which allow charging of up to four devices simultaneously. The power bank can be charged without taking it out from the backpack thanks to a micro USB input located on the outside. The pass-through technology and cable management system allow all devices to be charged at the same time, even while charging the power bank. The functions may vary depending on the power bank used.
The project started in Milan in early 2017 and was launched in January 2018 in both Milan and at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The design process involved extensive research into the needs of people who live their lives on the go and the best technologies to meet these needs. The team faced challenges in improving on what competitors presented as a smart backpack and in managing the logistics of electronic material in different countries. Despite these challenges, the Genius Pack Platinum has emerged as a backpack that integrates charging technology, high-quality materials, and Italian design, making it ideal for urban citizens who are always on the move.
The Genius Pack Platinum is a testament to Geneeo's commitment to innovation and design excellence. As the winner of the Silver A' Fashion and Travel Accessories Design Award in 2019, it is a design that showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder. With its unique features and stylish design, the Genius Pack Platinum is set to redefine the way we carry and charge our devices.
