The design concept of Inzone is deeply rooted in the history of Dezhou, a city known for its intersecting river and ally webs. Shen Junwei took inspiration from the bustling markets that thrived along these rivers and allies a thousand years ago. The elements of river allies, markets, boats, and ships are woven into the space design, creating a visually striking and memorable environment.
One of the unique features of this project is its use of historical elements to energize and signify the spatial design. The designer has effectively merged these elements into the spatial arrangement, creating a distinctive visual impact. Visitors to the mall are treated to a unique experience, as if they are walking "under the rivers" with moving "boat bottoms" adding to the overall fantasy.
The Inzone shopping mall is not just a visual marvel, but also a testament to innovative use of materials and technology. The main materials used in the project are aluminium sheet, wood, and stone. The large atrium uses natural daylight for illumination, creating a shivering beauty of light and shadows of waves. The use of aluminium board in various compositions also allows for cost-saving while creating diverse visual effects.
Despite the challenges of designing a thematic, scenarized shopping mall of 100,000 square meters with low energy consumption, Shen Junwei has managed to create a space that provides an enjoyable emotional experience. The interactive activities between people and the space distinguish the areas, adding to the overall uniqueness of the project.
Shen Junwei's Inzone shopping mall is a shining example of how design can be used to revive and celebrate history. It is a project that truly embodies the designer's prodigy and wisdom, and is deserving of the Golden A' Design Award it was granted. This award is given to outstanding creations that advance art, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.
