Chummy Design Inc. Transforms Showroom into a Futuristic, Star-Themed Space

The design's uniqueness lies in its innovative use of light and materials. White dots of light penetrate through irregularly punched aluminum plates, creating a meteorite-like effect on the gratings and the star-patterned glass facade. The result is a futuristic sales and exhibition store that not only reflects the theme but also cuts the engineering cost and construction period for the client.

The showroom was realized using a variety of materials, including punched aluminum plates, white gratings, multiple glasses, mirrors, stainless steel, leather, floors, wood facing, and multiple stone materials. The design also features adjustable reflector lamps, the position, angle, and softness of light can be adjusted as required.

Andromeda's design process involved several experiments to achieve the desired effect of mottled light and shadow. The final design not only reflects the theme but also cuts the engineering cost and construction period for the client, thus lowering overall cost.

Despite the challenges of design, sampling, customization, installation, and effect realization of the irregular aluminum plates on the ceiling within a tight schedule and low budget, the project was completed successfully. The showroom started operation in September 2018, after a six-month design and construction period that began in March 2018 in Shanghai.

Andromeda's design was recognized with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
