Living in Europe: A Residential Building Inspired by Classical Charm

Recreating the Allure of 18th-Century Europe

This residential building ingeniously consolidates the architectural elements, such as stones, columns, and arches, that convert into symmetrical and elegant building exteriors, reestablishing the charms of 18th-century Europe.

Te-Yu Liu and Hui-Ching Chang, the talented designers behind this project, have created a truly unique living experience that transports residents to the classical beauty of Europe. The building's raised public area, perfectly aligned with the building's appearances, manifests majestic allurements reminiscent of living in classical Europe.

The lobby entrance, adorned with elegant marble walls and an exquisite chandelier, welcomes residents with amiable and hospitable invitations. The splendid and gorgeous front entrance, designed to correspond with the building facade, seamlessly blends interior design elements with the public area. The delicate walkway, decorated with brown wooden-textured materials and mirrors, resembles a time tunnel, transporting people to a different time and space. The unique ceiling, constructed with varying heights, adds to the diverse charisma of the space.

Spanning 314 square meters, this residential building offers not only a visually stunning environment but also functional amenities. The public area includes exclusive facilities such as a lounge, bar, and gym, accessible only to the residents. The rectangular and symmetrical floor plan, utilizing classical and sleek design skills, creates a one-of-a-kind space with complete functions and delicate spaces.

The design team faced creative and technical challenges in bringing this vision to life. The lounge, adorned with delicate Monet paintings, exudes an artistic style reminiscent of an art gallery. The tall and magnificent reading room, decorated with exquisite white marbles and moldings, integrates contemporary and classical features through symmetrical planes.

Completed in April 2018 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this residential building stands as a testament to the designers' meticulous research and attention to detail. The dignified carved mirrors and unique wood ceilings bring out the classical charms, while the gym and bar, adorned with woods, exude a poised aura.

Recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, this design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. By contributing to quality of life improvements, designs like this make the world a better place.

Living in Europe is a testament to the power of design to transport us to different eras and evoke the charms of classical Europe. With its unique blend of architectural elements, functional amenities, and attention to detail, this residential building offers residents a truly exceptional living experience.
