No.92 Light and Landscape

A Minimalist Residential House Designed by Wen Liang Hung

Inspired by Le Corbusier’s words, "Light creates ambiance and feel of a place, as well as the expression of a structure," the No.92 Light and Landscape project by Wen Liang Hung utilizes open, semi-transparent sliding doors to create a bare space with sufficient ventilation for cooling.

The No.92 Light and Landscape is a residential house that stands out with its simple and minimal interior arrangement. Designed by Wen Liang Hung, this project aims to awaken the sensual energy in individuals by emphasizing the connection between humans and sounds, the interaction between lighting and shades, and the link between the mind and body.

With a total area of 132 square meters, the building's exterior responds to the natural environment with the color and texture of concrete. Inside, the elegant minimalist essence is echoed through patterns and shades of solid woods.

Textures and colors on the walls play with light and shadow, creating different layers of visual interest as light shifts throughout the day. This interplay of light and materials adds depth and character to the space.

By eliminating excessive decoration and using the least amount of material possible, the No.92 Light and Landscape project embodies the belief that design should not be more complex than necessary. It is a testament to the pursuit of better spirit and implementation ability.

The project was completed in May 2018 in Taipei City, Taiwan. Wen Liang Hung, the designer, conducted extensive research on the use of lighting to enhance the beauty of interior objects and create a captivating landscape. The result is a space that brings art to life by creatively integrating the environment and human living.

The No.92 Light and Landscape project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and technical skills. By incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, this project contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
