Nascent: A Unique Residential House Design

Intertwining Marble Grains and Alternating Light and Darkness

With a keen eye for detail and a desire to create spaces that cater to the needs of humanity, Chung-Lin Lee has crafted Nascent to establish delicate space layouts, spawn elegant charms, and create unique and fascinating living environments.

The design of Nascent is characterized by alternating light and darkness, reflecting the inherent law of the world. When chaos arises, black and white woven textures appear, creating a sense of order and harmony. The design embraces straightforwardness and openness, ensuring a space that is both inviting and comforting.

The realization of Nascent involves the use of various techniques and materials. In the living room, thick wooden panels envelop a secret study, providing a cozy and secluded space for contemplation. In the bedroom, warm wood and clean lines create a foundation for a restful night's sleep, akin to sautéed fresh vegetables simply seasoned.

Spanning 165 square meters, Nascent offers a unique and captivating living experience. The design team, led by Chung-Lin Lee, has meticulously crafted every aspect of the house to create a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Nascent's design interaction revolves around the use of contrasting colors, limited space, and a single window. This little cage within a large living space offers a sense of security and sheltered independence, providing solace to those who may feel alienated or eroded by loneliness.

The project was completed in February 2018 in Taipei City, Taiwan. Throughout the design process, Chung-Lin Lee conducted extensive research, drawing inspiration from the warm skylight that enters the house, leaving spots of refined gold. The design exudes a zen energy, reminiscent of an old monk, concentrated on one point.

Overcoming creative and technical challenges, Nascent showcases contrasting colors in shared spaces, creating a quiet yet resounding atmosphere that influences thoughts and communicates imagery.

Nascent has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical skill, and a commitment to improving quality of life.
