Spinning: A Design that Combines Fitness and Parenting

A Unique Approach to Exercise and Bonding

Spinning, designed by Sen Lin and his team, offers a new way for parents and children to communicate while pursuing a high-quality life. It combines the benefits of exercise and parenting in a single design, creating a unique and innovative experience.

The Spinning design features a built-in energy conversion mechanism that converts the power generated from the dynamic bicycle into the rocking motion of a stroller. This allows parents to exercise while keeping their children in sight, promoting eye contact and increasing motivation for fitness. It also enables parents to easily take care of their baby while being a role model for a healthy lifestyle.

The dimensions of Spinning are 2400 mm x 740 mm x 1160mm, providing ample space for both the parent and child to comfortably enjoy the ride. The design was meticulously researched, with the team consulting numerous books, websites, and market resources related to fitness bicycles, baby carriages, and design principles. The size and comfort of each component were carefully considered and modified to ensure an optimal experience for both parent and child.

One of the main challenges in creating Spinning was designing the transmission structure between the baby cradle and the bicycle, as well as ensuring the compatibility of power between the two. Through innovative engineering and problem-solving, the team successfully overcame these challenges, resulting in a seamless and efficient design.

Spinning not only provides a means for parents to exercise and bond with their children, but it also creates a warm and enjoyable experience for both parties. The strategic interaction between the adult and the infant allows for shared happiness and the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. This design has been recognized for its excellence and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Sporting Goods, Fitness, and Recreation Equipment category in 2019.
