BBALDE: A Revolutionary Shopping Management Service

Heeok Cho's Award-Winning Design Simplifies Online Shopping

The BBALDE service is a shopping integrated management service that allows users to control their purchase list, shipping, purchase decisions, and reviews of all shopping malls simultaneously. The design was inspired by the Korean word for straw, BBALDE, symbolizing the ability to organize and manage all necessary information at once.

The design's unique properties lie in its logo and symbol, which effectively represent the benefits of the service to its users. The symbol, viewed from the top of a cup, represents a straw inserted at a 45-degree angle from various directions. This symbolizes the collection of customer information from various shopping malls, consolidating them in one place for convenient use. The black color of the symbol signifies the sum of shopping mall logo colors, further emphasizing the integrated nature of the service.

The design was realized using Adobe Illustrator CC, after initial sketches were made on grid paper. The process involved internal and external feedback, analysis, and modifications, resulting in a design that is both intuitive and memorable for the users.

One of the main challenges faced during the design process was creating a brand identity that would be long-lasting in the customers' memories. After many drawings, internal and external analysis, feedback, and correction, Heeok Cho was able to create a simple, sophisticated form that effectively represents the brand's function.

The BBALDE service brand identity design project began in Korea in January 2015 and was completed in June 2016. It was then made available on the App Store in June 2015. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2019, recognized for its well-designed, practical, and innovative creation that meets professional and industrial requirements.
