Arm Offices in Israel

Creating a Home Away from Home

The offices of Arm in Israel were transformed into a high-tech center, but the design team led by Hadas Makov ensured that the new space maintained a sense of intimacy and a home-like ambiance. By incorporating unique partitions and thoughtful design elements, the Arm offices provide a comfortable and collaborative working environment.

When the offices of Arm in Israel were relocated to a bustling urban area, the design team faced the challenge of preserving the intimate and cozy atmosphere that the employees were accustomed to. To achieve this, they came up with the concept of creating "neighborhoods" within the office space. These intimate working spaces, designed for various working groups, were separated by partitions that were solid yet transparent. This allowed for improved collaboration while still providing a sense of privacy.

What sets the design of the Arm offices apart is the innovative use of partitions. The partitions not only serve as barriers but also incorporate unique bent wood elements. These elements can be used as decorative elements, containers for lush plants, shelves for decorative items, or even as a dry erase board. Additionally, acoustic panels in a variety of colors were incorporated into the partitions to provide sound insulation.

The positioning of the workstations near the screen wall was a deliberate choice to allow for natural light to penetrate the office space. This not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also contributes to the well-being of the employees.

The realization of the design involved the use of unique partitions that combined storage with the bent wood element. These partitions came in various forms, including narrow decorative elements, containers for plants, shelves, dry erase boards, and pinboards. Folding chairs were also integrated into the partition design, providing seating options for guests within the open space area.

The Arm offices spanned four floors, each with 1500 square meters of interior design. The project included both work and public spaces, meeting rooms, telephone booths, and informal collaboration areas. The design also incorporated electrical height-adjustable tables and partitioned work surfaces for personal space, in line with the company's policy.

One of the notable features of the Arm offices is the inclusion of scrum corners, designed for brief meetings where participants stand facing a screen. These corners, with their high-standing tables, match the style of work and promote efficient collaboration. The triangular edges of the building were transformed into casual seating areas, providing additional spaces for employees to relax and interact.

The entire design project took place from January 2017 to July 2018 in the industrial area of Raanana, Israel. Throughout the process, the design team focused on the well-being of the employees, ensuring that the new office space would enhance productivity and create a positive work environment.

The Arm Offices in Israel, designed by Hadas Makov and her team, have received recognition for their innovative and practical design. In 2019, the design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This award recognizes designs that meet professional and industrial requirements while also contributing to a better world.
