Parc Palais: A Harmonious Blend of Japanese and Scandinavian Design

Award-winning residential apartment designed by Jacky Lee & Charlie Lee

The Parc Palais design draws inspiration from the harmonious relationship between a couple with different design preferences. By blending Japanese style and Scandinavian design, the designers have created a unified and visually captivating living space.

The uniqueness of the Parc Palais design lies in its ability to satisfy the distinct design preferences of the couple while maintaining a consistent style, color scheme, and decoration throughout the apartment. The use of raised tatami platforms in the study room and bedroom adds visual interest and provides additional storage space.

The study room features two opposite sliding doors, establishing a seamless connection with the living dining room. This design choice not only creates an illusion of depth but also enhances the overall sense of space in the apartment.

The designers have carefully selected a mix of wood tones and different shades of grey to create a harmonious and cozy atmosphere. The combination of these elements adds warmth to the space while the layering effect created by the various shades of grey adds depth and visual appeal. Geometric pattern tiles and a bedhead further enhance the artful nature of the design.

With a total area of 1,074 square feet, the Parc Palais design offers a modern and comfortable living space. The designers, Jacky Lee Chun Kit and Charlie Lee Chee Lok, have successfully communicated with the couple to understand their preferences, needs, and habits, resulting in a design that strikes the perfect balance between Japanese style and Scandinavian design.

The Parc Palais project, located in Ho Man Tin, Hong Kong, was completed in a timeframe of four months, starting in October 2017. Throughout the design process, the designers emphasized the importance of communication to better understand the ideal home for the owners. This two-way communication allowed the designers to create a space that truly reflects the owners' desires and aspirations.

One of the notable challenges faced during the project was finding the right balance between the couple's different design preferences while maintaining a harmonious and unified overall design. However, through their creativity and technical expertise, the designers were able to overcome this challenge and create a space that satisfies both individuals.

The Parc Palais design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, technical skills, and contribute to improving the quality of life.

The Parc Palais design is a testament to the power of blending different design styles to create a harmonious and visually captivating living space. By incorporating elements of Japanese style and Scandinavian design, Jacky Lee & Charlie Lee have created a home that is both unique and inviting.
