Pei Yun Wu's Industrial Elegance: A Luxurious Residential Design

Blending Industrial Style with Luxurious Elements for a Unique Residential Space

Pei Yun Wu, a renowned designer, has created a residential masterpiece that marries industrial aesthetics with luxurious elements, resulting in a unique, award-winning design. This article explores the inspiration, unique properties, and realization technology behind this innovative design.

Pei Yun Wu's design inspiration for this residential house was modern grandness, low-profile luxury, and relaxing comfort. The designer has masterfully combined the character and grandeur of the industrial style with luxurious elements such as titanium plating to create an exquisite texture. The overall space design has been simplified, with a focus on open flow design and minimal storage and door design to create a broader space.

The unique properties of this design lie in its double-layered structure, grey color base, and the use of neat stone and iron pieces to showcase low-profile beauty. Large windows introduce plenty of light, which is further extended indoors with the use of glass partitions and open cabinets. The iron pieces are used to compose layers, modified by the metal lines of the titanium plating. The second-floor corridor serves as a channel extending indoors and outdoors, connecting people with nature.

Realization of this design involved the use of architectural concrete on the walls to introduce the natural texture of the industrial style. To avoid over decadence and coarseness, the designer infused a mild and leisurely feeling using wood patterns. The whole space uses one type of wood veneer to present a unified space tone. The iron pieces compose the layers and lines, with titanium plating covering and connecting different materials to visually show the exquisite texture.

The design also features a high ceiling to create a sense of broadness and grandeur. The open display shelf and glass partition simplify the design, connecting the two floors and the indoor and outdoor fields, making the indoor space more expansive and broader. In the master bedroom, the owner’s personal taste for simple fashion breaks the framework of the standardized wardrobe. The concept of the boutique display is applied in hanging the clothes openly, combining function and taste.

The design's interaction is another unique aspect, with the external of the two floors built with transparent glass. This open design allows light and air to flow freely, and the upper and lower fields interact naturally. The space under the stairs is used to build a gallery atmosphere, with seven irregular style shelves on the wall to display the owner’s figurine collection. The two floors are connected together to create a different scene of a house.

This design by Pei Yun Wu was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. The design's greatest challenge was integrating the elements of the industrial style into the space while showcasing the exquisite beauty of a luxurious residence. This challenge was successfully overcome, resulting in a design that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
