Kevin Chu drew inspiration for the Soothing Home from the idea of wonderful things surrounding us, like spring rain gently seeping through the skin and dropping onto the heart. This inspiration is reflected in the design's ability to create a poetic and happy experience of space, where a wonderful life comes true.

The Soothing Home stands out with its use of construction materials such as marbles, quartz tiles, iron pieces, natural brushed veneers, specific Japanese paints, engineered wood flooring, and imported wallpapers. These materials not only contribute to the elegant aesthetic but also preserve the core values of natural and comfortable elements, bringing affections and dreams into the home.

One of the standout features of the Soothing Home is the redesigned staircase. In the duplex apartment, the original bulky staircase blocked natural daylight and created a burdensome and dull atmosphere. To address this issue, Kevin Chu replaced the old staircase with a new open design. The new staircase provides a see-through, light, smooth, and broad sense of space. The once dark hallway alongside the staircase is now brighter, enhancing the overall ambiance of the apartment.

Extensive research went into the design of the staircase, as it not only serves as a functional connection between different floors but also strengthens family bonds. It is a piece of artwork that invents artistry, magnifies senses of space, brings sunlight into the house, and creates vitality for the family.

The Soothing Home has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
