The Ai Academy is breaking new ground in the field of artificial intelligence education. Designed by Emanuele Grittini, this innovative project challenges the status quo by offering a unique and fluid approach to learning AI. The inspiration behind this groundbreaking design stems from the concept of "multidisciplinarity of artificial intelligence," which emphasizes a versatile and characterizing mood that goes beyond the confines of technology.
What sets the Ai Academy apart from other educational institutions is its ability to stand out in a crowded market. With numerous startups focusing on artificial intelligence, the challenge was to create a design that not only captured the essence of the brand but also visually translated its corporate values into abstract concepts.
The realization of the Ai Academy's brand identity involved a combination of traditional graphic design tools and unconventional techniques. Alongside the use of Adobe Suite programs, the design team utilized a Canon reflex camera, Pantoni and Ral paints, rigid cardboard support, and professional photographic equipment to create captivating backgrounds that define the brand's identity.
Technical specifications played a crucial role in the development of the Ai Academy's design. The project incorporated experimental color mixing techniques with water-based paints, which were then post-produced to achieve the desired abstract backgrounds. The logo and typography were meticulously crafted to strike a balance between the abstract and technological aspects, resulting in a cohesive and visually striking design.
Interacting with the Ai Academy's brand identity occurs through various channels. Corporate materials are strategically distributed at conventions and webinars to promote the institution's activities. Additionally, the brand's social media presence is carefully curated to align with the overall corporate graphics, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience.
The Ai Academy project commenced in November 2018 and concluded in April 2019, both in Milan. Extensive research underpinned the design process, with a focus on creating a brand identity that would captivate and differentiate the institution from its competitors. The unique and highly regarded nature of the brand positions it to compete on an international scale.
Overcoming creative and technical challenges was an integral part of the Ai Academy's design journey. The team faced the complex task of striking the right balance between abstraction and conveying the institution's diverse range of AI services. By avoiding a singular focus on technology, the brand identity allows for a broader interpretation of AI services without the need for a complete rebranding.
The Ai Academy's logotype draws inspiration from classic fonts used in coding programs, known as monospaced fonts. The backgrounds, on the other hand, embody the concept of multidisciplinary artificial intelligence, evoking a fluid and characterizing state without relying solely on technological references. The interplay between the logo and backgrounds creates a geometric contrast that ensures the logo remains prominent and easily recognizable. The brand's bold and fresh color palette further enhances its distinct visual identity.
