What sets BlackDrop apart is its unique approach to brand strategy and identity. The brand's design is intended to provoke its audience and leave a lasting impression of quality and thoughtfulness. The logo's simplicity, combined with the brand's name, embodies the essence of a modern tech startup while still retaining the warmth and familiarity associated with coffee.
The creation of BlackDrop was realized using the Adobe Creative Suite, a testament to the brand's commitment to leveraging technology in its design process. The project, which took place over a month in Belgrade, was marked by a significant challenge: marrying the contrasting attributes of coffee and technology.
The research behind BlackDrop involved an extensive study of coffee brands that were doing something unexpected, particularly within the startup industry and creative communities. The goal was to understand what makes a coffee brand appealing to startup founders and teams. This research informed the design process, leading to a brand identity that successfully communicates with coffee lovers while positioning BlackDrop as a tech brand.
Despite the challenges, BlackDrop's unique brand identity has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award, awarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. This accolade underscores the brand's commitment to excellence, innovation, and the creation of positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
