Rame Puro: A Series of Metallic Sculptures

Rame Puro is a collection of copper, aluminum, and iron sculptures, meticulously crafted with a hand-polished finish. The unique shape of each piece is the result of improvisation, giving them an organic and natural feel. These objects effortlessly blend into any interior space, serving both as utilitarian accessories and captivating sculptures in their own right.

What sets Rame Puro apart is its ability to create a harmonious balance between the polished and rough surfaces of the metal. The center of each sculpture gleams with a brilliant shine, while the edges retain their original industrial character. This intentional contrast adds depth and character to the pieces, making them truly stand out.

The realization of Rame Puro involves the use of whole pieces of copper, aluminum, and iron. Each sculpture is meticulously created and polished individually, ensuring that no two designs are exactly alike. This attention to detail and craftsmanship results in a collection that is truly unique and one-of-a-kind.

Measuring at L275 x W87 x H8 mm, Rame Puro sculptures are available in different weights: copper (1.82 kg), aluminum (0.44 kg), and iron (1.26 kg). These dimensions make them versatile and suitable for various display arrangements.

While Rame Puro sculptures are primarily intended for static display, they also serve a functional purpose. Users can utilize them as coasters for drinks, further enhancing their versatility and practicality.

The project, led by Timur Bazaev, began in September 2019 and was completed in December 2019 in Vladikavkaz, Russia. The meticulous attention to detail and the desire to achieve natural forms posed significant challenges during the design process. Countless iterations were performed to achieve the desired thickness and relief, ensuring that the sculptures resemble natural formations rather than handmade objects.

Rame Puro has garnered recognition in the design world, receiving the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category in 2020. This accolade highlights the outstanding creativity and ingenuity of the design, showcasing its ability to authentically blend art, science, design, and technology. The series contributes to improving the quality of life by creating objects that are not only visually stunning but also functional and versatile.
