Yin Lai Zuo: A Private Club Designed for Leisure and Comfort

Creating a Diversified and Exclusive Space

Yin Lai Zuo, designed by Jue Yang, is a private club that offers a unique and comfortable leisure experience. The inspiration behind this design was to create a space where busy individuals can unwind and entertain their friends. With its diverse styles and atmospheres, Yin Lai Zuo aims to provide a tranquil environment for relaxation and socializing.

The design of Yin Lai Zuo stands out due to its two-storey loft form, maximizing the utilization of the space. Located facing the street, the club ensures a high level of privacy and exclusivity for its members. The architecture's advantageous height allows for the creation of various functional areas, including a leisure area, meeting rooms, and a drinking area.

One of the key challenges faced during the design process was the height and layout of the building. Originally a store with a height of 4.8 meters, finding the right balance between a single storey and a two-storey layout required careful consideration. Additionally, the presence of green roots from the community passing through the external wall posed a waterproofing challenge that needed to be addressed.

To maintain a clean and tidy space, the designers concealed many electrical equipment, with particular attention given to the placement of the fresh air mainframe. The host seat was strategically reserved under the tatami on the second-floor study, with the adjacent cabinet serving as a cover for the fresh air pipeline. This attention to detail ensures that the functionality of the space remains seamless and unobtrusive.

One of the most captivating features of Yin Lai Zuo is the custom-made staircase visible from the entrance. The handrails, made of tempered glass, are illuminated by a hidden light strip, providing a subtle and inviting ambiance. Looking through the French windows, visitors are greeted with a mini booth that extends from the bottom of the staircase. A small rectangular fish pond beneath the stairs adds a playful touch to the space while also adjusting the temperature and humidity for enhanced comfort.

The completion of Yin Lai Zuo in June 2019 in Xiamen showcases the meticulous research and attention to detail put into this design. By incorporating energy-saving lamps, hidden lighting fixtures, and an indoor fish pond for air adjustment, the designers have created a space that not only promotes relaxation but also minimizes light pollution and reduces the reliance on air conditioning.

Yin Lai Zuo's unique design and commitment to providing a comfortable and exclusive leisure experience have been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness demonstrated in the design, as well as its contribution to improving the quality of life.

With its innovative design and attention to detail, Yin Lai Zuo sets a new standard for private clubs, offering a haven for relaxation and socializing in a stylish and exclusive environment.
