Shenzhen Prince Plaza: A Futuristic Office Exhibition Center

Combining Art, Space, and Energy

Composed of a horizontal series of commercial buildings and vertical office towers, Prince Square is a stunning architectural masterpiece designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. Inspired by the works of renowned artist Richard Sierra, the designers of Prince Plaza aimed to create a modern commercial office exhibition space that would captivate and inspire visitors.

The unique strength of Prince Plaza lies in its ability to convey the image of an artistic center and an urban aesthetics application platform. From the cityscape to the interior space, from the buildings to the people within, and from the art installations to the overall design, every aspect of Prince Plaza exudes a sense of creativity and innovation.

One of the standout features of Prince Plaza is the glass wall that divides the space, resembling a luminous installation piece. This artistic element, reminiscent of Richard Sierra's work, creates a dynamic and visually stunning environment. The designers also took inspiration from the natural surroundings, seamlessly integrating the mountains, water, and cityscape to create three unique viewing platforms.

The realization of Prince Plaza involved the use of Palissandro blue marble and acrylic, which form the foundation of the building. The office skyscraper rises up, drawing attention and showcasing the designers' meticulous attention to detail. Metal works were carefully shaped to outline the resplendent skyline of the area, while the glass wall, with its strong sense of flow, harmoniously integrates with the city view, creating a dimensional field of energy within the office space.

With approximately 16,000 square feet of exhibition space, Prince Plaza offers a minimalist and modern office environment that resembles sculptures. Stone, aluminum, and glass are combined to create a futuristic atmosphere, enhanced by exquisite furnishings that reflect the mobility style of the space. The overall integration of these elements forms a truly unique and beautiful office space.

The interaction within Prince Plaza is carefully designed to enhance the overall experience. The designers have created a lighter and more transparent space through metal cutting and the use of lighting effects. Comfortable corners, such as the Mutto's Oslo series sofa, provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, while the scientific and technological multimedia exhibition hall offers an immersive experience. The traditional giant desks have been replaced with smaller, open desks, allowing for increased interaction and collaboration among staff.

The project, which started in February 2017 and was completed in September 2019, is located in Shenzhen. The designers took advantage of the site's unique characteristics to create a harmonious space with a sense of mobility, particularly in the front hall. The partition walls, reminiscent of Richard Sierra's sculptures, were constructed using aluminum and glass, resulting in an artistic space that seamlessly blends with the surrounding environment.

Shenzhen Prince Plaza has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
